Here is a way to do it within the software. Click the blackberry device manager. In particular properties. You can do this from the icon on the right side of your screen. Click the tab that says device connection.
Make sure the box on the bottom of this is unchecked - it says start blackberry device manager on system start up. Then click apply.

Also, if you have a program such as CCleaner...you can go to the start up programs from within it and delete the start up program that states blackberry manager / this will not delete the software. It just takes this particular program from the start up folder / process.

click start (windows logo at the bottom left of your desktop), now in the start search box type in msconfig, when the window pops up click the tab that says startup, uncheck the Blackberry software and save. This will ask you to restart your computer, say ok. when the computer restarts there will be a pop-up that's says things have changed. Check the box that says don't show this again then click ok. You are done.
