Is It possible For The Blackberry Storm To Be Available for AT&T?

I have AT&T and I don’t have plans of changing that. Is it likely that the Blackberry Storm will come out for AT&T in the future? If not, could i get and use the phone without switching carriers?

  1. I wouldn’t bet on it, unfortunately. The makers of BlackBerry, RIM, did a deal earlier in the year with Verizon and Vodafone worldwide. The Storm was created specifically for these two companies and they will own it for the life of the phone.

There’s every chance that RIM will create a new touchscreen BlackBerry for other carriers, including AT&T, but I don’t think you’ll be seeing the storm on them any time soon. It’s very much like the deal AT&T did with the Apple iPhone.

  2. What Calbiry said, plus; Verizon’s phones are CDMA so the Blackberry Storm won’t work on a GSM network, and no sim chip/card = no unlocking.

  3. Your best bet is to get the Blackberry Bold through AT&T when it is released

  4. I doubt AT&T will be carrying the blackberry storm. It only works with verizon and vodafone in canada.

  5. Whats the matter? Iphone not good enough for you? lol j/k But most likely it won’t be available to AT&T just like the iphone will never be available to verizon.
