i've had both, it really depends on what you like to do with it. blackberry are more of a business/corporate type of phone, blackberry are nice phone but you'll get bored with it in a long run, iphone on the other hand are amazing, let me tell you.. i love gadgets, i get my hands on new technologies out there, i've had so many many phones before and iphone just rocks. your first impression of iphone is like any other phones out there, jailbreak it and explore it, you will love it, not to mention thousands and thousands of applications out there for it.

another thing, ask yourself this question, why does alot of new phones out there always being compared with the iphones? simple.. they can't copy it!

Go with the storm. I don't use it for business use (although that is its intended purpose) and I still love it!! I mean, it does take a little while to get used to the vibrations, but as already mentioned, you can turn the feature off.

I have A LOT of friends that purchased the iphone (and I almost did too) just because it was "cool". Trust me, not getting the iphone was the wisest thing!

Anyway, I think that the person that has all the negative things to say about the storm is just unhappy all around, because there wasn't much good about the iphone said either? :/ Also, if you know what you're doing, your plan will not go above what you intend. I think Verizon may be a bit more expensive than all the others, but it is very well worth the cost! If you pay the $30 for the data plan, you will have unlimited data usage on your fabulous Storm! :)

In our family we have both BlackBerry Storms and iPhones. The consensus is that the Storm far outstrips the Iphone as a business tool, and they are pretty well matched as far as media apps etc., go. I have a 16GB card in my Storm and it's as good as my iPod for MPs and MP4 (Video) playing.

Both the iPhone and the Storm take some getting used as far not having a conventional keyboard go, but I far prefer the BlackBerry Suretype for fast and accurate typing. I also use a pocket Bluetooth keyboard for long email etc. The Storm tends to be sold with an unlimited email/internet plan here (Australia) while the iPhone has high and very limited data fees. I can browse all the websites that I wish with no difficulty at no increase in my monthly cost. With the iPhone you have to watch your bills. The inbuilt GPS on the Storm works great with a Free navigation app called Nav4all. The BlackBerry has brilliant voice recognition (licenced from Nuance - the Dragon Dictate people) and free Blackberry to BlackBerry messenger (BlackBerry PIN) plus the usual Flickr, Facebook, Google maps etc. It also has Word to Go and an Excel compatible spreadsheet app.

As for the person who wails about BlackBerry having vibration, and predicts that the carrier will double fees in a few months, somehow I think that phone advice from someone who cannot work out how to turn vibration off is a little suspect.

Good luck with it.

Please, Please Do not get the Blackberry Storm. Although it has good internet the vibration is annoying and if you are used to keys it gets on your nerves. Also the first touch never goes through. also, The VoIP(voice over ip) sucks if you planned on using that feature. Also Verizon although has a good network, after about half a year to eight months they will increase you plan almost doubling it. They did it with my LG chocolate claiming I did not have a data plan. They will find a way to screw you over Then by that time if you want to end your contract you are stuck paying the annoying bill and a termination fee or just the bill and suffer intolerable high prices each month after.

If you are looking at the Iphone I would suggest thinking about the amount of money you are going to have to pay month. It is a better phone than the blackberry storm though in my opinion. Although they offer text packages etc, if you want to use the internet on the phone or use the VoIP you also have to purchase this seperate and their overages are outrageous.

Keep in mind both phones do offer VOIP, GPS navigation(free on Iphone, a charge on blackberry) if those are features that you are looking for as well as both have internet capabilites. With the iphone there is an added bonus the ap store where most applications are free as well as hacking the phone to fit your needs which simply modifies it. The Iphone also supports Itunes and certain file types for music that the blackberry does not if you were planning on using this. SO if you want something that you can modify for you than the Iphone would be the choice.

If you do choice to modify the iphone when you get it the site is called quick pwn. It gives you access to winterboard and much more.

Hope this helps in your descision =]
