Will Verizon be the only carrier for the Blackberry Storm?

I have Alltel and I really want the Blackberry Storm.

Is there any way I can get it for Christmas without having to change networks?

  1. Verizon will be the preferred carrier for at least 90 days in US. That means that other companies are not allowed to sell the Storm until after the 90 day period.

    Verizon’s Storm won’t be out until sometime in November.

  2. Blackberry made the storm for Verizon no other carrier will have it ever.

    They might make a different one but they are locked in for more than 90 days.

  3. I would think No other company will be able to get anything like the BlackBerry Storm (at least made by blackberry anyway) because this is the only phone that is going to go head to head with the iPhone (and it will probably win).

    I think if Verizon was smart when they entered into the agreement to be the carrier for the Storm, they restricted RIM from designing a similar device for another carrier such as T-Mobile/AT&T

    I’ve heard the release date will be Nov. 2nd (if so I will be at the Verizon store before they open)

  4. Alltel is merging with verizon beginning of next year. I don’t really know what that means for alltel customers and the phones other than you probably should just wait until the beginning of next year when they merge and get the storm.
